T-rex

                                T-Rex

tyrannosaurus Rex ( or T-rex for short) is one of the most well-represented of large
theropods. The T-rex was known as ''the king of the dinosaurs'', and was found in a
variety of rock formations dating the maastrichtian age to the cretaceous period, and
was one of the last dinosaurs before the Cretaceous-paleogene extinction event.

1.Description:
The T-rex was one of the largest land animals of all time; the largest t-rex
ever found was Lucy, which measured 12.3 meters ( 40 ft) long, and
 was 4 meters ( 13 ft) long at hips.The T-Rex's neck formed a natural
S-shape curve like other theropods, the forelimbs had only two claws,
T-rex bite could destroy bone wih only on bite.

2. feathers:
Their is a theory that the T-Rex might have feathers in its body, one scientist
said that even lucy had some sort of hair in her body, another T-rex called
Dilong paradoxus , found in china, had some kind of feathers. The trex may
had feathers when it hacthed from its egg, as it grew it may had shed its
feathers.

3.Prey:
The T-rex heavily prey on the triceratops because some can be old and sick
which can be an easy prey and also eat edmontosaurus, alamosurus,
denvesaurus, and even cannibalism its bite force was overpassed by
the megalodon and the giant croc and some studies found bones of a trex
with bites suggesting it was attacked by the same species.

4. Arms:
Scientists have been very confused at the dinosaur's claws,
which measure about 1 meter (3.3 ft), it may had use to hold
a prey and give it a chance to kill it easier, or to hold a mate during mating.

5. In popular culture:
The T-rex is one of the most popular and well recognized animal of all time,
its featured in movies such as Jurrassic Park or King Kong and in
video games, books, television, cards, and stamps.

Loggerhead sea turtle

                                         Loggerhead sea turtle

The Loggerhead sea turtle is an oceanic turtle distributed around the world. It is currently
vulnerable, do to being hunted for their eggs and meat and because they eat plastics or
bottles that kill it.  It is a marine reptile, belonging to the family cheloniidae, and its one of
the most interesting animals in the ocean.

 1. Description:
The Loggerhead turtle is the world's largest hard-shelled turtle. Adults weighed more
than 80 pounds to 200 kg ( 180 to 440 lb) and the head and upper shell are range from yellow to orange, while the underside is plain pail yellow. The shell serves as an external armor, although  loggerhead turtles cannot retract their head or flippers into their
shells, the lachrymal glands  located behind each eye allowing the loggerhead
to maintain osmotic balance.

2. Habitat:
The loggerhead turtle spend most of its time in the open sea and in shallow coastal waters, they rarely come ashore, except for the female's brief visits to construct nests and deposit eggs. Hatchling loggerhead turtles live in floating mats of sargassum algae. Loggerheads like water that is 13.3-28.0 C ( 56-82 F), and tons of small animals or algae are grow on the turtles shell.

3.Feeding:
The loggerhead turtle is omnivorous, feeding mainly on bottom-dwelling invertebrates,
such as gastropods, bivalves, and decapods. They are likely to eat sponges, corals,
sea pens, isopods, insects, barnacles, sand dollars, and squids. They crush their
prey with powerful jaws and use some points called the ''pseudo-claws'' to tear l
arge pieces of food in the loggerhead and acid inside the turtle increases as
temperature increases.

4. Predators:
The loggerhead turtle does have alot of predators, especially early as they hatch from
their eggs. Some predators are the ghost crabs, beetles, fly larvae, ants, parasitiod
wasp larvae, flesh flies, snakes, toads, and even seabirds. When they are fully
grown they might be attacked by sharks, killer whales, humans, feral dogs,
 and flesh flies.

5. diseases:
Dangerous bacteria such as pseudomonas and salmonella attack loggerhead hatchlings
and eggs.fungi such as penicillium can cause external tumors, which the tumors interupt
the turtles behavior or can cause blindness. Can cause lesions in the turtles lungs,
heart,and intestines.

6. conclusion:
People have been trying to safe the turtles as they are been captured by seamen in fishing nets or stopping people from selling them illegally, the turtles are proctected by the nature conservation act of 1992 and volunteers looks from nests and takes care of the turtles eggs and when they hatch, some are free and others that died are taken to laboratories to study them, but its important to not capture them.

Great white shark

                                       The Great White Shark

The Great white Shark is the species of large lamniform shark which can
be found in coastal surface waters of all the major oceans, and has existed
since the Jurassic period, making it the oldest species of shark.

1.) Habitat and Distribution:
The great white shark is found in almost all coastal and offshore waters and in oceans
of Unite States, Chile, Japan, and South Africa. The Great White lives where sea lions
can be found, it also migrates to Hawaii and spends 100 days diving and its still unknown.

 2.) Characteristics:
The Great White has a giant mouth, the upper and lower lobes on the tail are the same
size and shape, its 3.5 to 4.0 mm (13–17 ft) long  and weights mass of 680–1,100 kg.
Their bite force is stronger than a dogs and a crocodile and its about 18,216 of force
of a single bite.

   3.) Diet:
Great White Sharks are carnivores and prey upon fish, turtles, seals, elephant seals, and
even other sharks. American Alligators parts have been found inside the shark's stomach
and also eat oceanic sunfish, some say the great white either hunts whale sharks or
 scavenges them.

   4.) Shark vs. Killer Whale:
In October 4, 1997, in the farallon islands off california, a female Orca killed a
Great White shark and eat the sharks, in 200, a shark's collar was found in
a killer whale's stomach and in 2015, a pond of orcas had kill and eaten a shark.

   5.)Shark Attacks:
The great white shark is responsible of 272 bite in the U.S.A, Some films like JAWS had
put the Great White as a man-eater, but sometimes it could attack you as it confuses you
for a seal or may bite you by curiosity, sometimes when they bite a person, they don' like
too much bone and don' eat the person. They also hate human flesh and let a person go
after the first bite because they don' like human flesh, people only die due to blood loss.

Smilodon

                                                   Smilodon

The Smilodon ( also called the Saber-Toothed Cat),is an extinct species of cat
family that existed about 11,000 years ago and was one of the largest mammals
in the ice age and its famous for its long , curved saber-shaped canine teeth that
even when its mouth was closed, they could still be seen.
1.) Characteristics:
One of their most well known characteristics was their long teeth which grow to
50 cm ( 19.7 inches) long and were big bear like size and were perfect hunters
like lions they are carnivores and they were strong and fast as they co-exist with                     other strong and fast animals like wolves, cave bears, and even cave lions.

2.) Prey:
The Saber Toothed Cat preyed on Elephants and Rhinos and other giant mammals. Do
to tons of giant meat eaters existed at that time they needed large animals to eat, to
kill their prey they would have attacked the stomach or throat as they were soft issue
and were strong enough to take out a giant mammoth and may also be a scavenger.

 3.) Habitat:
Smilodon has been found in places like forests or jungles, but it has lived in the
Americas. And was found in places were their were trees, bushes, lakes, and large
animals and also were found in parts of South America in the late ice age. The
smilodons had to compete with other large animals that also lived in the same
  place.

4.) Extinction:
Sadly, the Smilodon went extinct after the ice age as the world got warmer and many
large animals went extinct too which  the smilodon couldn't hunt other animals
such as deer do to their speed and  the smilodon didn't adapt to fast, and
died of starvation.

 5.) Conclusion:
Today scientists are trying to bring this beast back alive, to study how it lived long ago

and may released to the wild if the African lion ever got extinct and it would trive
  once again.

yellowfin tuna

                              Yellowfin Tuna
Yellowfin Tuna  is a saltwater fish, that  belongs in the tribe Thunnini, a sub group of the
mackerel family (Scombriade), which has 5 different species of tuna and the Tuna
an the mackerel sharks are the only fish that can a body temperature and lived in the
Atlantic, Mediterranean ocean.

1.Description
A Tuna a sleek and streamlined fish, adapted for speed. It has two fins attached to its back, has little spikes called finlets and its color is dark metallic blue for camouflage
its tail is quite fin, has three horizontally keels on each side. it size can  be 40-180 cm/1,4
 130 kg.

 2. Habitat
The Tuna inhabit the mixed surface layer of the ocean. They can sometimes be found on
Kelp forests some spent their 85% of its time in depths shallower than 75mm ( 240 feet),
they can be found with sonic tracking. They are also very rare to find as they spent most
of their time in the bottom of the ocean.

 3.Diet
There diet is other fish, crabs, and squids. their body are made to swim fast to capture
fish such as the flying fish. Animals like the laternfish or sardines are devoured by Tunas.

      4.predators
Tunas are also hunted by other animals by larger tuna, sharks, or toothed whales.
Other animals such as the false killer whale and great white are known to eat tons of
tunas. The Yellowfin Tuna can escape their predators as their warm blooded which
 makes them faster.

  5.As food
Yellowfin tuna fish is caught by fishermen for lots of foods, such as can food for the
Domesticated Cat or Dog and are known to use pole and line, are known to capture
 100 tons of fresh Tuna.

  6. conclusion
The yellowfin Tuna is a beautiful animal that should be cared by humans as its
Near Threatened list by conservation status. Its also a interesting animal that has
  beautiful color and misunderstood.

Asian Black Bear

                                     The Asian Black Bear

Today on Animals and nature well discover about the ASIAN BLACK BEAR from
Asia, Its also known as the moon-bear or white chested bear, a medium size bear
from the bear family. It lives in the Himalayas, Korea, and more places , but this
bear is being hunted by humans.

 1. What is a Black Bear
A Asian Black Bear is a medium size bear that is a medium size than a Grizzly Bear and its fur is black like the original black bear ( that exits in the USA) its black but in its chest there's a white v chest mark and its jaw is  bigger and more mobile than a Grizzly and its skull is small but massive, an Adult males have skulls measuring 311.7 to 328 mm (12.27 to 12.91 inch), a females skull measures 291.6-315 mm (11.42-12.40 in)  and

2. Behavior
The Asian Black Bear are live in family groups of two adults and two children, they can also climb trees and mountains and will climb to feed, sun, relax, fight enemies, and hibernate. They will half of their 15% of their life is in trees which use sticks and leaves to make a small bed for them to give birth , they might not hibernate a lot only in colder places, northern ranges, and lower elevations, they make sounds, roars, groans, and slurping sounds( when eating)

3.Feeding
Asian Black Bear are omnivorous, and will feed on insects, beetle, larvae, garbage, mushrooms, fruits, honey, and acorns. Thought their more carnivorous than brown bears, Asian Black Bears are not as specialized in their diet as pandas are, Black Bears will eat pine nuts and acorns of the previous year in April-May period. They will eat monkeys, deer , wild boar , and buffaloes.

  4.Black Bear VS. Predators
Asian Black Bears will be occasionally attacked by tigers and brown bears, although  leopards.Packs of wolves are know to kill a fully grown Black Bear and Lynx will kill and eat the  cubs and Black Bear easily could kill a leopard in heavily vegetated lands, while in open  areas, Leopards overpower Black Bears. Brown Bears are known to steal food from Black  Bears, Tigers regularly prey on young bears but are known to kill fully grown Black Bears.

5. Black Bears VS. Humans
Black Bears have been listed as an Endangered do to the main habitat being cut down by humans, and over 430,000 in regions the Bears have decreased. Over hunting on Black Bears as a sport in Japan and Russia in, 75-100 Black Bears are harvested annually, thought 500 a year are reportedly harvested illegally. They are used as cloth, shoes, and medicines.

6. Conclusion
The Asian Black Bears are very special to nature do to they prevent cockroaches from growing to much and they dont deserve being killed or hunted, maybe if we learned more about animals we would understand they are also living creatures, that breathe like us and more.

The Beginning of my BLOG

           Welcome to my blog !!!!!!

Hello everyone, my name is Alan Sanchez welcome to Animals and Nature this is the first blog I have ever made i really hope you enjoy my blog ! My favorite subjects are science and language arts. I love all the animals , but my favorite is the dog. In my opinion dogs are very interesting because unlike cats(still like cats i have  nothing against them ) they are  very active and playful and royal.

                   The DOG
The Dog has been called the man's best friend and today in 2016, there are
about 54.4 million people owns a dog and more people are buying this amazing pet because of how loyal, domesticated, and popular, it has become  a source of food.

1.what is a Dog
Domestic Dog, which is part of the family Canidae which evolved from a wolf -like creature in Eurasia from 40,000 years ago. Which is the oldest domesticated animals with one study claiming for the past 33,000 years, its also the closet cousin of wolfs, and the extinct wolf-like creature.

2.Size,Fur, and Senses
The Dogs have a lot of senses and sizes and behaviors. The Chihuahua's weight of a male is 1.8-2.7 (4-6lb) and another breed called Old English  Sheep Dog weights 46k (101 lb). their sense includes vision, hearing, sense of smell, sense of taste, touch, and sensitivity of earth's magnetic field. their fur are two varieties of fur are "double" which is common of dogs who live in colder climates and "single" the breeds that live in warm places.

3.Lifespan
Dog's that are mixed breeds will have a life span of 1.2 years long which is more than pure breeds and if a dog is heavier it will have a shorter life span than shorter dogs.Ranges from 10 to 30 dogs have died  and pusuke was named world's longest living dog in december 2011.

4. Diet
Unlike Wolfs , Dogs are both Carnivorous and Omnivores. Dogs, unlike the Cat Family with its small intestines, Dogs can adapt on any kind of food ( except candy) and can eat vegetables, grains, and meat.

5. Relationship with humans
Dogs and Humans have been together for lots of years. They were used by hunting, herding, protection, military, and many more uses. Dogs left impact as " man's best friend", but in some cultures, Dogs are used as a source of food. Dogs are know as companions do to being loyal and playful with adults and children. Dogs are used in India as protectors of their home and are used to clean leftover food scraps.

6. Conclusion
Dogs are fascinating animals that scientists still want to discover and help animals
that don't have a home to stay and are out in the streets lonely and hungry, if we
understand more about dogs then people will not throw them in the streets and
will help dogs to live because their ''man's best friend"
